Application No: 303974

Applicant: The Regents of the University of

California

Title: Recombinant Bacterial Plasmids Containing

The coding Sequences Of Insulin Genes

Dear Sir:

Your responses of Dec. 16, 1981 and January 13, 1982 have been considered,

and found persuasive. There consequently is no need for the Patent Appeal

Board to hold a Hearing. The reasons for withdrawing the objection made

umber Section 2 has already been set down in a recent decision dated

March 18, 1982, taken on application 257177 of the Abitibi Company.

The present application is consequently remanded to the Examiner to resume

prosecution.

Yours truly,
