Gentlemen:

Application No:   211920

Applicant:        Polaroid Corporation

Title:            Opaque Backcoat

In your letter of May 14, 1979, you have refused to supply particulars

about the interference proceedings related to the corresponding

United States application. Such information had been requested by the

Examiner on February 13, 1979 under authority of Rule 39(1)(c) of

the Patent Regulations.

You have stated there is in fact an interference involving the patent

to which the United States application issued. It is thus apparent that

there is available to the applicant information about an interference

involving that patent, and consequently related to the corresponding

United States application.

You are therefore in contravention of Rule 39(4), and I now refuse this

application unless the information is submitted within two months.

Yours respectfully,

J.H.A. Gariepy

Commissioner of Patents

You are being directed to the most recent version of the statute which may not be the version considered at the time of the judgment.
